Product description Daiwa Saltist II VJ Jigging Rod
Our comprehensive Saltist Jigging II range has been redesigned in line with expertise of seasoned anglers. These jigging rods are built from HVF carbon in x45 multilayers. This technology builds the carbon layers in 4 directions to make the blank more responsive under all angles of compression. These exceptional ultrafine blanks boast new Fuji guides with a stainless frame in a lighter, matt finish.
Designed for modern vertical fishing, the Saltist BJ63S and BJ69S are spinning models geared towards madai and inchiku metal lures, which require slow animation. They are also suited to fishing large, soft lures on a slow retrieve: shads barely lifted from the bottom for cod and slugs/shads slowly worked up to mid-depth for pollock. The blank boasts incredible power for a diameter of just 9mm, and breaks down at the butt. The 69S model has been lengthened by a few centimetres to allow kayak anglers to more easily work the line around the front of the kayak while fishing. An intermediate sized reel is recommended, loaded with braid between 10 and 16 lb for the 63S and between 10 and 20lb for the 69S. Ideal drag rating 2kg, max drag rating 8 kg.
The Saltist VJ has been designed for slow vertical jigging. This 62 (1.88mm) has been especially designed for use with a baitcasting reel, which can be used to vary the speed and behaviour of the jig as you work it up and down from the boat always keeping a light tension on the line in case of a take
The action is soft through the tip, intermediate-fast through the middle section, with plenty of power in the butt to bring predators into your grasp. This technique has come to Europe from the Pacific and is bound to take off for cod and pollock anglers in the Channel, North Sea and Atlantic, as well as in the Med. Recommended reel: the Saltiga1515HL is built for this technique! For moderate depths, the Ryoga, Catalina and Lexa 300 will also work perfectly. Recommended braid: between 10 and 20lb. Ideal drag rating: 2kg; max drag rating: 8kg.
A versatile jigging rod ideal for dentex or jacks, the Saltist Deep Action can turn its hand to other species such as heavy hopping in the Atlantic for bass, stone bass or cod. With a progressive action through the top 2/3 but enough power in the butt section to stand up to powerful runs from big fish. A one-piece Fuji GRC cap-gimbal is attached to the butt. The join is at the butt. Recommended for big reels loaded with braid between 20lb and 40lb.
This is the muscular big brother of the Saltist II series. The Tuna Style is designed for heavy sport: trolling for tuna or heavy jigging. The x45 carbon blank draws its high performance qualities from the cross-layering of fibres: flexibility, extreme strength and sensitivity to feel bites on the descent when jigging or bites when trolling. The robust Fuji HDPS 22 reel seat features a reinforced Fuji H-22 ring which is held in place with a metal block ring. Fitted with a Fuji cap-gimbal on the butt. Big reels are recommended.

Technologies:
X45:
- The wrapping of X45 guarantees true elasticity: a return to the original shape of the blank irrespective of the angle of load.
HVF:
- A reduction in the quantity of resin used and increased carbon fibre adhesion during the hot-polymerising stage.
FUJI O Guides:
- The frame of FUJI K ANTI TANGLE GUIDE HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO PREVENT TANGLES WHEN CASTING
- The frame of this FUJI guide prevents braid getting looped around rod guides on the cast. A crosswind often causes the knots to form around the first guide, leading to break offs and rig losses.
- FUJI K guides eliminate this problem thanks to the ingenious frame design.
FUJI:
- The FUJI logo is linked to a Daiwa rod featuring at least one FUJI element, whether its a reel seat or guide.
- FUJI KOGYO CO., LTD was founded on 20 January 1945 in Japan and is the worlds leading rod component manufacturer. Daiwa and Fuji have been collaborating as Japanese manufacturers for decades. FUJI has the technical engineering know-how to respond to the increasingly high demands of anglers for improvements in their tackle. In this respect the company is on the same wavelength as Daiwa in terms of putting innovation at the service of the angler.
This is the story behind the FUJI guides, reel seats, rings and other components that youll find on numerous Daiwa rod ranges around the world.
