For small boat, transom applications (boats that do not have battery compartments), these easy access external battery terminals allow trolling motor leads and charger leads to be connected without opening the box. Built-in battery meter displays current ´state of charge´.

is the box completely watertight? can it contain a lithium battery or a lifep04? thank you

The box is only held closed by the band round it, it´s not securely fastened. When closed it´s difficult for water to get in. We use it to house our boat battery which we use in an inflatable boat with an electric motor.

Not watertight but more like splash-proof. In my case Fit for Purpose.

If I had to give an rating based on the IP values, I would say it could be an IP 4 (protection against splashing water from all sides), although mine often withstood small waves. Unfortunately, a full immersion would flood everything. One suggestion is to keep the connectors greased as they oxidize easily with salt water.

No, it is not waterproof. It is a standard battery box without gaskets. There are also large ventilation holes. Box suitable for group 24 and 27 batteries. Check the size of the batteries you are looking at. Google groups 24 and 27 to see the measurements. Just specifying the battery type says nothing because lithium batteries come in all possible sizes.
