The Alivio 425 and 450 BX Tubular rods are the new entry level Shimano 3pc surf casting rods. Even for this price level, the XT30 blanks are very good (stiff, responsive and powerful) and in combination with the anti tangle Hardlite guides, this new Alivio casts big distances.

The rod simply broke on the third use. The weight of the lead was only 130g and the rod broke when throwing.

Brilliant. A pass of reeds for the price they have. Very light, they bend easily when casting and allow long distances. The toe, although somewhat rigid, is very alert to bites. I recommend them 100%.
