Gt23M is a Garmin transducer. This device has been created to show the fish that are underwater with absolute clarity and you can visualize the structure of the boat at the bottom.
The design of this equipment is 8 pins. Its medium frequency band is 80-160 kHz and its power is 600 W. The technological equipment includes the CHIRP ClearVü scanning probe with a power of 500 W and a frequency of 260/455 kHz.
The maximum depth it reaches is 1,800 ft. Each package has support for stern mirror mounting, components for installation and relevant documentation.
GT23M-TM transducer is perfect for coastal and offshore fishermen who want CHIRP traditional sonar and CHIRP ClearVü scanning sonar. This transom mount transducer consistently displays clear and crisp fish arches with superior target separation as well as clear definition of structure below the boat.
The 8-pin transducer features mid-band CHIRP traditional sonar (80-160 kHz) and has a power rating of 600 W. The CHIRP ClearVü (260/455 kHz) element has a power rating of 500 W.
For installation, follow the included instructions carefully to avoid damaging your boat.

The probe came with the GT52, it is more for swamps, for this probe which one would be better for the sea? gt20, gt21, gt23, gt15, gt 41 etc. thanks for the information

You should contact the Garmin assistance service, since not all seabeds are the same. For use in the Ligurian sea, being immediately deep, Garmin advised me to use the GT53.

Well, I also had the GT 52 and I changed it for the GT 23, which my colleagues recommended to me and it´s great.

The best thing to do is to call Garmin technical support, since depending on the seabed where you want to use the depth sounder, they can suggest the most suitable transducer.
