What is Computer Software?

The physical aspect of your computer is called its hardware, however, the computer cannot function just with the hardware as this is only the body of the system, therefore to get them to function computer software is required. Computer Software is a set of codes and procedures that will instruct the computer how things will progress and tasks are carried out. They are the actual instructions set to direct the hardware of the computer to perform a task.
The operating system of your computer includes the example of computer software that enables the use of applications and computers’ processing power. Computer software is loaded in the storage of your computerhard drive, ram, and memory and once they are installed the computer is ready to function. Normally computer software is categorized into two types i.e system software and application software.

System Software

System software is designed to control the internal processing of the computer mainly through an operating system and also helps to control storage devices, monitors, and printers. They are used to fulfill a specific need or perform a required task.

Application Software

This is a software package that is designed to perform a specific task for the end user.
At times they are also referred to as the end user software as they actually help the user to carry out all their tasks from creating documents to databases and publications and even playing games and similar stuff.
Some of the most famous brands in computer software are mentioned as follows: HP, Philips, Dell, Lenovo, Kyocera.
