Vetus AIRVENTV Trap With Valve

Vetus siphon replacement

29/01/2024

Manuel

The vetus siphon that is installed on the Volvo penta engine loses water through a small tube that is connected to the top and that drains into the bilge. They recommended a replacement but I´m not sure if it is this model. How can I check it before placing the order? I can send you a photo if it is convenient to identify the exact model. Thank you

Answer of renato

I can only say that the item received corresponds to the product image. Purchased and installed 6 months ago. Everything OK

Answer of Jonny

This fits perfectly on the Volvo penta, I switched to this 6 months ago. Top quality.

INFO IPHON BREAK

08/06/2023

enzo

Hello, I have a volvo penta md2030 engine with Vetus siphon break. At the top where the valve is there is a conduit with a small tube. I would like to know why water always comes out of the tube at the top? what do you suggest?

Answer of Agustín

Hello, there are two models of the aerators. With and without valve. If your model is exactly the one in the ad, no more than a few drops should come out of the tube, if at all. If it expels water, it is because you have not maintained the valve and it is clogged by salt/residue from seawater. Disassemble it, which is simple, clean the valve rubber with fresh water, let it dry and reassemble it. If the rubber band is damaged there are spare parts. But make sure it is the valve model and/or the permanent water outlet model. Outwardly they are identical.

Answer of Raymond

The valve is missing or is jammed with salt crystals. Take the top off to check if the valve is fitted. If it is, remove it and soak in warm fresh water to remove the crystals.
