Product description Daiwa Labrax AGS Spinning Rod
Labrax AGS rods have been specially designed for targeting sea bass on lures. These sensitive rods are soft through the tip and work perfectly with plugs. Shore anglers will revel in the longer 2.6m or 3.2m models!
- The 90M model allows you to fish high drag lures such as spinners. It can also be used for plugs and squids.
- The 96ML model is ideal for taking on bigger waves and eddies with medium-sized lures. It excels when fished with 12-15g plugs thanks to the ultra-light AGS carbon guides.
- The Labrax AGS 96M comes into its own for big plugs and light shore jigs.
- The 100MH model lets you fish sinking stickbaits and jigs for big sea bass in waves or strong currents.
- The Labrax 106MH is a powerful rod for launching lures up to 60g out to range.

Technology:
AGS carbon guides:
- AGS technology has been developed by Daiwa to produce rod guides with an exclusive and unique structure. AGS frames are made of an extremely resonant specialist carbon which is unbeatable in terms of sensation.
- Carbon gives rod blanks their stiffness and lightness – so what better link between the rod and the line than carbon itself? AGS carbon guides are the lightest in the world. Just as a rod’s blank has a fast action, the rigidity of the AGS frame offers extraordinary sensitivity, relaying vibrations on the line directly to your hand. Reading the bottom and bites with AGS technology simply has to be tried to be understood!
X45:
- This manufacturing process involves layering spiral carbon fibres (90°), unidirectional fibres (0°) over three layers and two layers of carbon as helicoidal opposites (45°). These two crossed layers give the name Bias Cross Wrap.
- The wrapping of X45 guarantees true elasticity: a return to the original shape of the blank irrespective of the angle of load.
HVF:
- A reduction in the quantity of resin used and increased carbon fibre adhesion during the hot-polymerising stage.
HAUT MODULE:
- High modulus carbon fibres form a sheet coated with resin, with all excess removed.
MICRO PITCH:
- A micropigment finish is hot sprayed during the wrapping of carbon sheets. This removes the need for varnish, offering less weight and more sensitivity
Exclusive Reel Seat:
- Daiwa’s engineering department has developed Daiwa-exclusive reel seats which fuse innovation with Fuji® elements.
FUJI:
- The FUJI logo is linked to a Daiwa rod featuring at least one FUJI element, whether it’s a reel seat or guide.
- FUJI KOGYO CO., LTD was founded on 20 January 1945 in Japan and is the world’s leading rod component manufacturer. Daiwa and Fuji have been collaborating as Japanese manufacturers for decades. FUJI has the technical engineering know-how to respond to the increasingly high demands of anglers for improvements in their tackle. In this respect the company is on the same wavelength as Daiwa in terms of putting innovation at the service of the angler.
- This is the story behind the FUJI guides, reel seats, rings and other components that you’ll find on numerous Daiwa rod ranges around the world.

is this the 2021 model or the older model?
Answer of Krasimir
Yes this is 2021 model
Answer of Evelina
A very good and light year, and if it is the latest model of labrax ags
Answer of Istvan
It’s the older one. I knew it when I bought it, the weight difference comes mainly from the grip, so heavier, but better balanced than the new, and the price is very good. I have rods with every generation of the AGS guides, but I can’t tell if the silvery new ones are any better or not. As a sight I prefer the black SiC insert of the old rod.
